Norton Orthopaedic Specialists - Sports Medicine

Norton Healthcare is proud to offer specialized sports medicine care for children, adolescents, teens and adults through Norton Orthopaedic Specialists, Norton Healthcare's first practice dedicated to providing comprehensive orthopaedic and sports medicine services.

Ryan Krupp, M.D. provides orthopaedic care for adults and children with sports injuries or other orthopaedic injuries. Services include shoulder, elbow and knee arthroscopy; complex shoulder reconstruction and instability surgery; as well as complex knee reconstruction. Dr. Krupp also provides a full range of sports medicine treatment services.

Dr. Krupp is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency training. He recently completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Spartanburg, S.C.

Sam Carter, M.D., joined Norton Orthopaedic Specialists in September 2009 to provide additional sports medicine expertise. Dr. Carter joined Drs. Ryan Krupp and Jonathan Yerasimides with Norton Orthopaedic Specialists.

Dr. Carter is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also completed his orthopaedic surgery residency. Dr. Carter recently completed an advanced orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship with Orthopaedic Research of Virginia in Richmond.

Attention parents, coaches and athletic trainers:
Norton Orthopaedic Specialists is offering evaluation and treatment of athletes with sports-related injuries at its Saturday Sports Injury Clinics from Aug. 21 - Nov. 20. Throughout the fall season, the clinic will be staffed with a physician, a physical therapist and a full range of diagnostic imaging equipment, including X-ray and MRI. No appointment is necessary. The clinic opens at 8 a.m. each Saturday, and all patients much be signed in by 9 a.m. in order to be seen. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
