Liver Cancer Treatment and Services

Norton Cancer Institute offers patients with liver cancer hope through pioneering research and alternative, state-of-the-art treatment options.  Our physicians and staff work closely together to give each patient the chance for a cure and the highest quality of life possible.

Detection

To help in the diagnosis of liver cancer, Norton Cancer Institute physicians employ several detection techniques including:

  • Ultrasound
  • CT scans
  • MRI
  • Angiography
  • Laparoscopy
  • Biopsy Blood tests

Treatment options

The preferred treatment for patients with liver tumors is surgical removal, also called resection.  Other options include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Chemoembolization
  • IntraOperative MRI
  • Radio frequency ablation
  • Therasphere treatment
