Norton Bariatric and Weight Management Multidisciplinary Team
Through the Norton Bariatric and Weight Management Program, patients have access to a multidisciplinary support team of nurses, dietitians and therapists. These team members take an active role in the creation, development and coordination of monthly support groups.
Director of Bariatric Services
Erin Mulford Brown
Oversees the multidisciplinary team to effectively and efficiently enhance patient care. Responsible for growth and development of overall program.
Bariatric Therapists
Mary Hargadon, LCSW, LMFT, and George Cartwright, MRE, LCSW
Conduct psychological evaluations of patients prior to surgery to assess level of compliance and motivation. This includes realistic surgical expectations, psychological readiness and ability to accept lifestyle changes and long-term follow-up requirements. Available for individual postoperative consultations and/or group therapeutic follow-up.
Bariatric Nurse Coordinators
Debra Roth, R.N.; Debbie Pike, R.N.; Connie Cohen, R.N.
Provide information and education to bariatric surgery patients throughout all phases of the program. They are a continuing resource to patients throughout the surgical process.
Bariatric Dietitians
Jennifer Kyser, R.D., L.D.; Casey Potts, R.D., L.D.
Provide education to bariatric patients through pre-, peri- and postoperative visits. They instruct patients on dietary needs and expectations for long-term weight loss success. Available for individual or group postoperative consultations.
Patient Access Specialist
Denise Spear
An advocate for patients to help solve problems that may arise with insurance companies during the bariatric surgery approval process. She educates patients on financial responsibilities and obligations.
Department Secretary
Reta Satterly
Provides administrative support to entire team.
