Inclusion Council

The Norton Healthcare Inclusion Council is responsible for ensuring inclusion-related strategies are implemented across Norton Healthcare for our patients, employees, suppliers and the community as outlined in the Inclusion Strategic Plan. This may involve assessing current practices and training courses or programs as well as advocating or participating in activities related to diversity and inclusion.

The Inclusion Council is composed of employees representing departments across Norton Healthcare. Council members are expected to support the integration and infusion of inclusion and inclusive behaviors, and achieve results in their departments.

Goals

Our inclusion strategy is to infuse, integrate and operationalize diversity and inclusion into the Norton Healthcare system. The council will work to:

  • Be viewed as a leader in maintaining an inclusive environment
  • Ensure staff contribute to an inclusive environment
  • Ensure staff are culturally competent and skilled at serving and caring for the entire community
  • Ensure the demographics of our organization reflect the communities we serve by having diverse leaders at all levels
  • Be viewed externally by patients and their families, business partners and communities as a leader in ensuring an inclusive culture

Inclusion Council members

The Inclusion Council is composed of employees representing various departments within our organization.

Roles of Inclusion Council members:

  • Lead the integration and infusion of inclusion, inclusion behaviors and results in their departments
  • Complete assignments that occur outside the council’s meetings
  • Regularly attend council meetings and communicate the progress and results related to inclusion initiatives

The time spent participating as a council member is part of each member’s performance plan, and he or she is evaluated on council-related performance and accountability. The goal of this strategy is to integrate, infuse, operationalize and institutionalize diversity and inclusion into the Norton Healthcare system.
