Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital’s rehabilitation clinic, Norton Specialty Rehabilitation, is the primary clinic within the Norton system to provide rehabilitation services to patients with an oncology diagnosis
The Norton Specialty Rehab team is currently working towards certification through the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORi). PORi is a leader in oncology rehabilitation for all disciplines; physical, occupational, and speech therapies. They provide educational resources and certification courses to therapists that cover “the latest evidence-based research and thorough scientific understanding of the physiological impact of cancer.” Currently our therapists have undergone the Foundation in Oncology Rehabilitation coursework which educates the therapist in the “unique clinical profile of oncology patients that will be both applicable and necessary for effective practice.”
Melanie Hoehn, P.T., MHA, is the director of Norton Brownsboro Hospital inpatient rehabilitation services and Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation. She also is the mentor facilitator for the Norton Healthcare and Bellarmine University Physical Therapy Neurologic Residency Program. Melanie earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Indiana University, Indianapolis, and her master’s degree in health administration at Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri. She has served as a therapist and leader at Norton Healthcare for more than 18 years.
Anne Blandford, SLPD, CCC-SLP, is the supervisor at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation. She specializes in the treatment of neurologic speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. She has specialty training in SPEAK OUT! and Lee Silverman Voice Therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s and related neurological disorders, Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile, fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallow, neuromuscular electrical stimulation treatment for dysphagia, and rehabilitation for Bell’s palsy. Anne is also an assistant professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and acts as a clinical supervisor to graduate clinicians. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, master’s degree at the University of Louisville, and doctorate in speech-language pathology from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Anne serves on the surgical team for deep brain stimulation and is a member of the multidisciplinary Norton Healthcare Brain Tumor Center, a collaboration of Norton Neuroscience Institute and Norton Cancer Institute.
Adrienne Humphrey, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation and also a Parkinson Wellness Recovery PWR! certified therapist. Adrienne has experience working with patients with a variety of conditions, including neurological disorders. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in occupational therapy from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.
Brittany McAndrew, M.A., CCC-SLP, BCS-S, CBIS, is a speech-language pathologist at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation. Brittany earned her bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Indiana University, Bloomington. She has experience serving adults with a variety of communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders. She is a board-certified specialist in swallowing and swallowing disorders and a certified brain injury specialist, and she has specialized training in SPEAK OUT! for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and related neurological disorders, Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation treatment for dysphagia.
Elizabeth Ulanowski, P.T., DPT, NCS, is a board-certified physical therapist and neurological specialist at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation. She is the director of the Neurological Physical Therapy Residency Program, a collaboration of Norton Neuroscience Institute and Bellarmine University, and serves as an assistant professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Bellarmine University. Liz earned her doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine University in Louisville. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. Liz’s scholarship interests include physical activity for individuals with neurological disorders and community engagement.
Morgan Robertson, P.T., DPT, NCS, is a physical therapist at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation and a Parkinson Wellness Recovery PWR! certified therapist. She also works at University of Louisville Hospital providing therapy to patients following trauma, stroke and other neurological injuries. In addition, Morgan is an adjunct faculty member for Bellarmine University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, where she assists with service learning opportunities, neurological rehabilitation labs and student mentoring. Morgan earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, and her doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine University in Louisville. She has a special interest in the treatment and management of patients with neurological disorders across the spectrum of care.
Natalie Vance, P.T., DPT, NCS, is a physical therapist with Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation. Natalie is certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a neurologic clinical specialist. Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Murray State University in Kentucky and earned a clinical doctorate in physical therapy at Bellarmine University in Louisville. Natalie has been an employee of Norton Healthcare since 2014. She has attended and presented at national and international physical therapy conferences. Natalie is currently a mentor for the Norton Healthcare and Bellarmine University neurological physical therapy residency program and for students seeking their physical therapy degree. She also is a certified yoga instructor and holds a weekly yoga class through Norton Healthcare for individuals with tremors. Natalie has focused her research and clinical practice in movement disorders with the goal of maximizing function for her patients who experience neurodegenerative diseases.
Jeanette “J.” Lanoire, P.T., DPT, NCS, is certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a neurologic clinical specialist. by the. She has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry from Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro and earned her doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine University, Louisville. Jeanette has been an employee of Norton Healthcare since 2018. She is certified in dry needling, is a Parkinson Wellness Recovery Moves-certified therapist, and a Drums Alive! trainer. She participates in numerous community-based health and wellness programs revolving around the neurologic community, including leading a weekly Drums Alive! class, a Parkinson’s wellness retreat and more. She is an adjunct faculty member for Bellarmine University’s physical therapy program and serves as a mentor within the Norton Healthcare and Bellarmine University neurological physical therapy residency program. Jeanette has dedicated her clinical practice to the treatment and management of neurological disorders with significant interests in stroke, vestibular rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury and other movement disorders.
Alana Towns is a senior activity based technician at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation. She provides specialized exercise training primarily to clients with neurological disorders for the community fitness program. Alana earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green. She has completed Parkinson Wellness Recovery training. She is also a mentor for students completing an internship in the exercise science program at Bellarmine University. Alana is a certified Matter of Balance coach, providing strategies to manage falls and increase activity levels. Her goal and focus are to provide continued care for patients in the community with a specialized workout space for individuals with neurological disorders.
Scarlett Staton, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of speech, swallowing and cognition for patients with neurological disorders and diseases including Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Huntington’s disease, dystonia, essential tremor, brain tumor, stroke and dementias, within the context of outpatient rehabilitation. Scarlett has a Master of Science in communication disorders from the University of Louisville. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and holds specialty certifications in SPEAK OUT! & The LOUD Crowd and VitalStim/DINES. Scarlett’s areas of focus for treatment include dysarthria, aphasia, cognition, dysphagia, augmentative and alternative communication, and voice. Additionally, Scarlett serves as the evaluating speech-language pathologist for the Norton Neuroscience Institute ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic. Areas of special interest include Parkinson’s disease, ALS and brain tumor patient populations.
Mallory Walter, M.S., OTR/L, CBIS, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in communication, with a minor in psychology, from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, before obtaining her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Spalding University, Louisville, in 2011. She is board certified in occupational therapy, with over 10 years of experience. Mallory focuses on neurological rehabilitation and is a certified brain injury specialist.

She has a Bachelor of Science in in education with a minor in psychology from the University of Dayton, Ohio, and a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky, Lexington. She has been an employee of Norton Healthcare and Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation since 2013. In addition to working full-time at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation and Norton Children’s, Morgan is also an adjunct faculty member for Bellarmine University’s doctor of physical therapy program, where she assists with service learning opportunities, neurologic and pediatric courses and student mentoring. Morgan has a special interest in the treatment and management of patients with neurological disorders across all ages.
Lisa Popson, P.T., DPT, NCS, is a physical therapist with Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation and Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Lisa is certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a neurologic clinical specialist. Lisa has a bachelor’s degree in health science and a doctorate in physical therapy, both from Bellarmine University, Louisville. She splits her time between outpatient rehabilitation at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation and inpatient rehabilitation services at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. In addition to working full-time at Norton Healthcare, Lisa is also an adjunct faculty member for Bellarmine University’s doctor of physical therapy program, where she assists with service learning opportunities, neurological rehabilitation labs, acute care coursework, and student mentoring. Lisa is currently a mentor for the Norton Healthcare and Bellarmine University neurological physical therapy residency program. She participates in a number of community programs including the local Huntington’s Disease Society of America chapter, coordinating an exercise group for individuals with Huntington’s disease at a nursing facility in Hanover, Indiana. She sees patients with a variety of neurologic diagnoses including Parkinson’s disease, brain tumor, stroke and vestibular disorders.
Kelli Schneider, OTR/L, CBIS, graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, in Richmond, with a Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy and a minor in psychology. She is a board-certified occupational therapist with over 25 years’ experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation. Kelli is also a certified brain injury specialist.
Amber Faraji, P.T., DPT, NCS, is a physical therapist and board certified neurologic clinical specialist at Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation. She is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Outside of clinic, Amber also assists with the doctor of physical therapy program at Bellarmine University in Louisville. Amber earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, and her doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine. Her interests include research, treatment and management of patients with neurological disorders to improve their quality of life.
Robin Dixon, P.T., is the director of rehabilitation services for Norton Hospital, which includes inpatient services and outpatient services at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center and the Center for Independent Living, both located in Norton Healthcare Pavilion. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health services and master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Louisville. During Robin’s more than 16 years with Norton Hospital, her experience and leadership have supported the Norton Healthcare downtown campus and staff to provide high-quality care to the patients we serve.
Jenna Reed, P.T., D.P.T., is the orthopedic coordinator and student coordinator for Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center. Jenna earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, and her doctorate in physical therapy from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. She is a Schroth-Barcelona C1 and C2 certified physical therapist under the Schroth Barcelona Institute for treatment of scoliosis, and certified in vestibular rehabilitation from The American Institute of Balance for treatment of vertigo and balance deficits. Jenna also is certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as a clinical instructor for therapy students. She has experience in inpatient rehabilitation, working with a variety of acute neurological and orthopedic injuries.
Keegan D. Humphrey, OTR/L, CLVT, CDI, DPAM, is coordinator, neurological rehabilitation, for Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center. He also participates with his co-workers in an ongoing stroke support group and Norton Neuroscience Institute’s ALS Clinic. Keegan earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville. He earned his clinical doctorate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also earned certification as a low-vision therapist. He recently completed certification as a rehabilitation driving specialist and a stroke rehabilitation specialist. Keegan has been a traveling therapist throughout Kentucky and Indiana, working in various clinical settings for more than five years. He has a passion for pursuing education and working with patients who have neurological disorders and low-vision conditions.
Jason Nachazel, P.T., is a physical therapist at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center. He has more than 17 years of experience in outpatient physical therapy, including orthopedics, sports medicine and spine dysfunction, and is an American Physical Therapy Association-certified clinical instructor. Jason earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Athens and his master’s degree in physical therapy from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.
Ron Lasley, P.T., DPT, is a physical therapist at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center. He has worked in outpatient physical therapy with an emphasis on developing strong manual therapy skills for the past 22 years and has more than 12 years of experience in the acute care inpatient setting. Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in health care leadership from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, and his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Findlay in Ohio. He has C1 and C2 certifications in scoliosis therapy from the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School in Spain, and is Level I certified in Scientific Exercises Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS) from the Italian Scientific Spine Institute in Milan.
Ron’s emphasis is on treating adolescent and adult scoliosis patients.
Louis E. Peters, M.S., OTR/L, is an Occupational Therapist at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation. Louis has experience treating adults and children of all ages and diagnoses. For the past 5 years, Louis has worked with a variety of geriatric patients as well as many different neurologic and orthopedic diagnoses. He earned his master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Spalding University’s Auerbach School of Occupational Therapy and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville. Louis plans on continuing his professional development as an occupational therapist through specialty courses while also working toward multiple specialist certifications.
Heather Blackadar, PTA, is a physical therapy assistant at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation. She has more than 10 years of experience in a wide variety of clinical areas, having worked in acute care and skilling nursing facilities and as a traveling therapy assistant. Heather earned her associate degree as a physical therapy assistant from North Shore Community College, Danvers, Massachusetts, and her bachelor’s degree at Amherst College, Massachusetts. She has a special interest in safe exercises for patients with osteoporosis.
Amber Brennan, M.S., OTR/L, CBIS, CLT, DPAM-certified, is an occupational therapist at Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center – St. Matthews and a certified operator of the Gait Real-Time Analysis Interactive Lab (GRAIL) system in Norton Mobility Lab. Amber is certified as a brain injury specialist and lymphedema therapist and also holds certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) BIG, a treatment approach for Parkinson’s disease. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and is experienced in working with various populations and settings, especially patients with neurological conditions. Amber earned her bachelor’s degree in health and human services and her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. She soon will take part in a specialty group for women with multiple sclerosis and complete her certification as a multiple sclerosis specialist.
Moriah Facktor, P.T., DPT, is a physical therapist at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation. Moriah enjoys treating patients of all ages and diagnoses. In 2018, she traveled to Belize to provide care for pediatric and geriatric patients. Moriah earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and her doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine University in Louisville. She plans to continue to grow as a physical therapist through specialty courses and working toward her specialist certification.
Colleen Nalley, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation. She has experience working with individuals with various neurological diagnoses and is Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery PWR! certified, specializing in treating individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. Colleen earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and her doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine University in Louisville. She has special interests in providing care for patients who have had spinal cord injuries and strokes. She plans to continue to attend specialty courses and work toward obtaining her specialist certification.
Lindsey Adler, P.T., DPT, CLT, is a physical therapist at Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center – St. Matthews. She has a strong background in orthopedic physical therapy and wound care, but has exclusively treated pelvic floor disorders in women and men since 2016. Lindsey earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, and her doctorate in physical therapy from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has completed certificates in achievement in pelvic physical therapy (CAPP-Pelvic) and pregnancy and postpartum physical therapy (CAPP-OB and CAPP-OBA), which have equipped her with advanced knowledge of pelvic floor conditions. Lindsey is a member of the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Women’s Health section and plans to complete her certification as a women’s health clinical specialist.
Susan Barker, MHA, M.S., CCC-SLP, is director, rehabilitation services at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital and the Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center – St. Matthews. Her leadership and support of therapists helps provide quality care to the patients who attend therapy in the inpatient and outpatient clinic settings. She has experience working with patients who have a variety of diagnoses, including Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord injury, oncology, laryngectomy and traumatic brain injury. She holds specialty certifications in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD for treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease, VitalStim therapy, manual techniques for dysphagia management, and is trained in fiberoptic evaluation of swallowing and modified barium swallow studies. Susan earned her bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, a master’s degree in communicative disorders from the University of Louisville, and a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Colin Hulls, P.T., DPT, NCS, is a physical therapist at Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center – St. Matthews and a trained operator of the Gait Real-Time Analysis Interactive Lab (GRAIL) system in Norton Mobility Lab. He has experience working with patients who have a variety of neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, stroke, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injuries and orthopedic injuries. Colin earned his bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and his doctorate in physical therapy from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) BIG therapy for patients with Parkinson’s disease, and is working toward Neuro-IFRAH certification for treatment of patients who have had a stroke or traumatic brain injury. Colin also is certified as a neurologic clinical specialist. He has completed multiple courses in dry needling, which he uses to help individuals with neurological and orthopedic impairments.
Elizabeth Levay P.T., DPT, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Georgetown College. She then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Bellarmine University in 2017. Elizabeth has a specific interest in pelvic health and has completed the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 coursework and the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatment Pelvic Health 1 coursework. She currently is pursuing her Doctorate in philosophy in Health Professions in Education.
Lauren Nason, OTR/L, CSRS, is an occupational therapist at Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center – St. Matthews. She has a passion for working with patients with various neurological conditions and is experienced in acute and acute rehabilitation settings. Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Spalding University in Louisville. She is certified as a stroke rehabilitation specialist and looks forward to growing her skills working for various diagnoses/conditions and making appropriate recommendations for continuum of care.
Lindsey Russell, M.S. CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist at Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center – St. Matthews. She has experience working with a variety of disorders, including dysphagia, dysarthria, aphasia, voice disorders and cognitive communication disorders. Lindsey holds a specialty certification in VitalStim swallowing therapy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology and audiology from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Lindsey has a special interest in working with patients who have dysphagia and neurological disorders.
Kaitlyn Drummond, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist at Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center- St. Matthews. She has a strong background in treating adult patients with neurological conditions, as well as experience in acute and subacute rehabilitation settings. Kaitlyn earned her Bachelors in Human Health Sciences from the University of Kentucky, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Cincinnati. During her academic work, Kaitlyn was involved in research with stroke survivors and the benefits of outdoor activity which confirmed her passion for working with the neurological population. Kaitlyn is also a member of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy and looks forward to pursuing her Neurologic Clinical Specialist Certification in the future. Other areas of interest include Vestibular Rehabilitation which she plans to pursue further education in to provide exceptional care to her patients.
