Annual Snow Ball held to benefit Norton Children’s Hospital

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 17, 2017) – The Snow Ball, one of the largest annual fundraisers for Norton Children’s Hospital, will be held Nov. 18 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. This black-tie event often is referred to as the kickoff to the holiday season and is attended by more than 900 guests. It features Heaven Hill specialty cocktails, a luxury silent auction, a five-course gourmet meal and dancing to Groove Essential. The event also includes the drawing for the Norton Children’s Hospital Home & BMW Raffle.

The Snow Ball is sponsored by Konica Minolta and is part of the Festival of Trees & Lights presented by Republic Bank. Honorary chairs for 2017 are Carol and Dr. David H. Adamkin, a neonatologist at Norton Children’s Hospital and Division Chief of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics, University of Louisville.

Chef Graham Weber’s creations this year will include crab cakes, artisan salad, specialty intermezzo, filet and scallops and dessert developed only for the Snow Ball.

Money raised at the event will benefit the renovation and expansion of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Norton Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Hospital Foundation. More than 1,400 critically ill and premature infants from throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana come to the Norton Children’s Hospital NICU for the highest levels of care, which include everything from the highest technology available for ventilation, neonatal heart surgery, extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation and even just oxygen and supportive care.
