Clark Memorial Health, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Scott Memorial Health, in Scottsburg, Indiana, officially have become a part of Norton Healthcare under a new purchase agreement that is now final. These two Indiana-based facilities, along with Norton King’s Daughters’ Health in Madison, Indiana, which merged with the Louisville-based health care organization on Jan. 1, 2022, bring the number of Norton Healthcare hospitals in Indiana to three.

Patients of Clark and Scott, now Norton Clark Hospital and Norton Scott Hospital, will continue to access care at these facilities in the same way they do today. This opportunity will provide patients and employees of the two hospitals with more access to the expansive network of resources, including specialty services, research and innovations, available through Norton Healthcare.

“Over the past several years, we’ve strengthened our commitment to meet our patients where they are in an effort to improve health outcomes,” said Russell F. Cox, president and CEO, Norton Healthcare. “Increasing access to health care is a part of achieving healthier communities for generations to come. We are proud and excited to welcome Clark and Scott Memorial Health to our Norton Healthcare family and work more closely together to continue providing access to high-quality care.”

Kathleen S. Exline, DNP, R.N., has been named interim chief administrative officer for Norton Clark Hospital and Norton Scott Hospital, overseeing operations for these two hospitals. Kathleen has been with Norton Healthcare since 2007 and has served as system vice president, performance excellence and care continuum, since 2014.

Until today, Regional Health Network of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, a joint venture of Lifepoint Health and Norton Healthcare, owned and operated both hospitals. Norton Healthcare now has assumed full ownership of both facilities.

Staff is being supported during the transition to make it a smooth process for them without disruption to patient care.
