The global spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 is creating high interest in how online care can be used to safely and effectively screen for and recommend treatment for this illness. Norton eCare telemedicine providers are ready to support you and your family.

How Norton eCare can help: If you are feeling unwell, whether with COVID-19 symptoms or another condition, and would like to speak to a Norton Healthcare provider, Norton eCare offers 24/7 video visits and eVisits. These visits are done online so you don’t have to leave home. This lowers the risk of spreading infection to others, or being exposed yourself in a waiting room at an urgent care clinic or emergency department.

Sign in to MyNortonChart to get started. If you don’t have a MyNortonChart account, sign up at NortonHealthcare.com/MyNortonChart. Norton eCare providers will screen you and determine the next steps in your treatment, much like an office visit.

How we screen for COVID-19: Norton eCare providers will ask you questions based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization. They will assess your symptoms, such as fever, cough and shortness of breath. They also will ask you about your recent travel, and about your contact with people who have been traveling or who may have the coronavirus. At this time, COVID-19 cannot be diagnosed through telemedicine. However, our care teams can evaluate your risk for the condition, answer your questions and recommend the next steps you should take. We also can help determine the right place for you to go for in-person care if you need it.

How we provide care: If the Norton eCare provider thinks your risk for COVID-19 is medium or high, you will be told what immediate steps you need to take. If you have no risk or your risk is low, the provider will work with you on how to care for yourself at home.

Other services we offer

In this busy time, you may prefer to see a provider remotely for other medical conditions. Norton eCare providers are available to help with a variety of health conditions that are not related to COVID-19. Please visit our webpage for a full list.

How we can help you: You can visit with a provider online anytime using the MyNortonChart app or through your MyNortonChart account online. We want you to have a clear understanding of how to reduce your risk for infection and to access your available care options.

Step 1: Download the MyChart App from Google Play or iTunes or set up an account on your computer. Enroll by creating a free login and completing your personal profile.

Step 2: Log in to your account and select either the E-Visit or Video Visit icon. With an eVisit, you will be asked a series of questions about your symptoms. A provider will then call you to discuss your condition. With a video visit, you will schedule a time convenient to you to speak with a provider via a secure, online video connection. Be sure to allow access to your camera and microphone if you are using the app. If you are connecting through a desktop computer, be sure to test your computer settings.
