Dip away guilt-free with this high-protein, low in saturated fat crab dip. Avoid the pitfalls of high-fat cheeses and sour cream-filled dishes. Take the health factor to the next level by serving with whole-wheat or brown rice crackers and celery.

Creamy Crab Dip

Serves 8

8 ounces Greek yogurt cream cheese

¼ cup plain Greek yogurt

¼ cup reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

½ teaspoon Sriracha sauce (option, add more for taste)

½ teaspoon Creole seasoning

1 teaspoon minced garlic

12 ounces lump crab meat (fresh or canned)

1 bunch green onion, minced

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Fresh or dried parsley for garnish

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cream cheese, yogurt, cheddar cheese, Sriracha, Creole seasoning and garlic. Stir until smooth. Add the crab, onions and lemon juice, and heat until warmed through. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Transfer to a serving dish and either serve immediately or let cool and refrigerate to serve cold later. It’s excellent either way!

Optional: Garnish with parsley before serving.
