In honor of Black History Month, Norton Healthcare is celebrating some of the people who make a difference.

Michele Harbin, R.N., coordinator, Norton Faith & Health Ministries, has been part of the Norton Healthcare family for 18 years. Since joining the organization, Michele has served in a variety of clinical roles before finding her home with the Norton Faith & Health Ministries team two years ago.

“Michele is the poster child for Norton Healthcare’s mission, vision and values,” said Ramona Hawkins, executive secretary, Norton Faith & Health Ministries. “Her caring attitude does not go unnoticed, whether it is assisting a visitor to our facility needing navigational help or a fellow co-worker needing a prayer.”

Michele is active in the health ministry at her church, St. Augustine Catholic Church, and worked to have the church be part of Kentucky’s blood pressure collaborative. She also participated in St. Augustine’s recent health fair providing attendees with education and resources about Alzheimer’s disease. Michele also volunteers her time serving meals to the homeless community around the holidays.

“She has a servant heart,” Ramona said.
