Drinking plenty of water is one of the best things for your child’s urinary and digestive systems. Drinking enough water — about 40 to 60 ounces per day for children ages 4 to 12 — helps flush bacteria from the urinary tract, which prevents infection and helps the digestive tract function regularly.
Sprucing up your child’s water with fruit, cucumber slices or a sprig of fresh mint can help them choose water over other options.
Recipe:Choose your favorite fruit combination.
•2 cups favorite fruits, sliced
•2-3 sprigs of mint
•Let sit for an hour or more to let the flavors infuse the water.
•Pour over ice
Water Recipe Suggestions
•Raspberry, Lemon Mint
