Our volunteers help hospital staff, patients and visitors in a variety of ways.
There are volunteer opportunities for adults in both clinical and nonclinical areas of our hospitals. Examples include helping at welcome desks, providing directions, assisting the gift shop or checking on patients. Depending on your interests and experience, a role will be determined that best meets your comfort level and availability.

Hospital volunteer assignments
All volunteers, including teens, must complete a health screening before beginning their volunteer assignment. This is available free of cost through our Employee Health team. In order to maintain patient safety, we require the following vaccines and screening:

Norton Healthcare’s five Louisville hospitals and Norton Children’s Medical Center have volunteer opportunities. Check out our webpage highlighting current volunteer opportunities.
Adult volunteers are required to wear khaki or dress pants, along with smocks provided by the volunteer manager. Summer teen volunteers will be provided a T-shirt or polo shirt.
