Bike to Beat Cancer has teamed up with Dan Delph, training leader for Norton Sports Health, to give you “Dan’s Training Tips.” These videos are designed to give riders answers to basic cycling questions and concerns.
In this video, Dan discusses what not to wear — and what to wear, including spandex. Put aside your fears: Spandex bike shorts have redeeming qualities, namely the chamois. The chamois is the padding in the seat that absorbs moisture and helps reduce chaffing. Also wear a jersey that has pockets to carry nutrition, a cellphone or anything you might need along your ride.
There’s still plenty of time to register for the Bike to Beat Cancer or donate to cancer care in our community. Sign up now!
