Every birth experience is unique, and our labor and delivery teams are here to support you with personalized care, comfort and expertise every step of the way. The labor and delivery unit at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital is designed to provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for you, your baby and your family during one of life’s most important moments.
Each year, our teams help welcome more than 9,000 babies, caring for women with both routine and high-risk pregnancies. From early labor through delivery and recovery, experienced nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives work together to support your birth preferences.
Norton Hospital’s labor and delivery unit is located on the third floor of the hospital in downtown Louisville, at the corner of Brook and Chestnut Streets. There are designated spots on the third floor of the garage labeled “Parking for Women in Labor.”
Patients can be dropped off at the entrance on the second floor of the parking garage. Free valet parking is available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the second floor of the garage.
The parking garage can be accessed from 200 E. Chestnut St. at the front of the hospital or in the back at 203 E. Gray St.
If you park on the third floor of the garage, proceed to the glass door next to the third-floor elevators and press the black button for security to open the door to the Norton Hospital walkway. Alternatively, you may take the garage elevator to the second floor, enter the hospital and take the hospital elevator to the third floor.
Follow the red signs to the OB Emergency Department. Press the button on the wall and tell the staff whether you are in labor or whether your provider sent you for testing.
