Getting an annual screening mammogram is not exactly something most women look forward to. Do you know anyone who actually celebrates it?
There’s a good reason you shouldn’t put it off: Breast cancer affects one in eight women every year, including millennials. Many insurance companies and employee health plans allow a screening mammogram every year. If you’re overdue, you still have time to get it in this year.
You can even schedule your mammogram online for the time that’s most convenient, at the location you prefer.
Even though most medical organizations recommend annual clinical breast exams and mammograms beginning at age 40, women are still making excuses for not getting mammograms. “I don’t have time” shouldn’t be one of them.
To schedule your mammogram now, visit NortonHealthcare.com/Mammography. You’ll choose either Screening Mammogram or Tomosynthesis (Tomo) / 3-D Mammogram.
A box listing time and location options will open, allowing you to make the choice most convenient for you. If you’d prefer to view a specific date or location, use the filter at the top of the box.
Select the one you want and enter the reason for your visit. If it’s your annual screening, enter that. If you haven’t seen your OB/GYN or primary care physician, you’ll get a call from one of our schedulers to work out the details.
When you sign into your MyNortonChart account, you’ll see your appointment there.
If you’re not sure whether you need a screening mammogram, talk to your primary care or OB/GYN. And if you find a lump in your breast or have another concern, always start with your physician first.
