Before Your Telehealth Appointment

Have your insurance information and a credit card ready if you have a copay. Copays for telehealth appointments are usually the same as or similar to the copay for in-office visits.

Step 1

Download the MyChart app from the App Store. Select Norton Healthcare/Norton Children’s from the list of providers.

Step 2

Download the Zoom app from the App Store. You do not need to set up a Zoom account or log in to the Zoom app to access your visit.

Step 3

Ensure that your mobile device settings allow the Zoom app to access the microphone and camera for sound and video. You may go into Settings on your iPhone, find the Zoom app and ensure camera and microphone are switched on to confirm.

Step 4

If you’d like to test your device, you may open Safari in your mobile device, go to Zoom.US/Test and click “Join.” If you would not like to test your device, skip to Step 9.

Step 5

Select “launch meeting.”

Step 6

Select “Open.”

Step 7

Select “Join with Video.”

Step 8

Select “Call using Internet Audio.”

Step 9

This concludes the Zoom test. Select “End” to exit the meeting, then exit the Zoom app.

Step 10

Open the MyChart app and log in. Once you are logged into MyChart, select “Visits.” If the visit is for someone whose account you have proxy access to, make sure you are in their profile instead of your own.

Step 11

Select the upcoming telehealth appointment and complete eCheck-in.

Step 12

When you complete eCheck-in you will see a thank-you message. You may close the MyChart app until it is closer to your appointment.

Accessing Your Telehealth Appointment

For a seamless visit, close out other applications for optimal connection. Find a well-lit area and ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi or cellular data signal. Much like you would for an in-person visit, create a list of questions or concerns you may want to share with your provider.

Step 1

Ten minutes before your appointment time, log in to the MyChart app. Once you are logged in, select “Appointments” and touch the video icon to test your mobile device.

Step 2

Select “Begin Visit” to connect with your provider. This will prompt the Zoom app to open.

Step 3

Touch “launch meeting.” You do not need a Zoom account, login or meeting ID to begin.

Step 4

You will be placed into a virtual waiting room until your provider connects to your appointment.

Step 5

When your provider has connected, your screen will begin “Video Preview.” Select “Call Using Internet Audio” to connect your microphone. Select “Join with Video” to enable your camera.

Step 6

Your screen will display control buttons for sound, muting and stopping video. The provider will end the visit for you.
