Our board-certified plastic surgeon has the depth of experience, latest techniques and advanced tools to create the results you desire. Dr. Thornton also has a keen eye for the aesthetic aspects of breast reconstruction. He has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 2007.
Dr. Thornton is the liaison in plastic surgery with the Norton Healthcare Breast Health Program, which is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. He takes part in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to review the needs of breast cancer patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, and through survivorship. This method of collaboration is designed to provide the best care and outcomes to patients based on their individual cancer diagnosis. This includes nipple-sparing mastectomy with reconstruction, one-stage or direct-to-implant reconstruction, or oncoplastic reconstruction.
The choice to have breast reconstruction or reduction is a deeply personal one, tied to your self-esteem and body image. It may come after a time of illness such as cancer. We strive to meet your needs and give you your desired outcome. Whatever your reason for these procedures, we will support you every step of the way.
“Our staff is dedicated to welcoming you in the same way we would welcome our own family. We believe your encounters with our office should be comfortable and informative. We are here to serve you and to acquaint ourselves with your needs, your goals and your fears. Working with you, we will craft a treatment plan designed to meet your goals for your health and your recovery.”
