In 2011, Ed Nelson’s sister Deana was treated for breast cancer. At that time, he felt like he needed to do something. He decided to ride in Bike to Beat Cancer.
The 10th annual Bike to Beat Cancer on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Norton Cancer Institute – Brownsboro, will be Ed’s seventh time riding in the fundraising event.
“It gives you a sense of pride and achievement,” he said.
You can make a difference for the families, friends and neighbors beating cancer at Norton Cancer Institute!
This year choose from even more ride options at Bike to Beat Cancer — whether you’ve never been on a bike before, want to participate but can’t be there or are ready to hit the road. Choose from a 15-, 35-, 65- or 100-mile ride, a 5-mile Family Ride, an hour-long spin session or a virtual ride. We also need volunteers to help support and cheer on our riders!
The funds raised stay right here in our community to help patients of Norton Cancer Institute and Norton Children’s Cancer Institute, affiliated with University of Louisville. Read how the funds are making a difference.
We all have our own reason to ride in the Bike to Beat Cancer. Whether you are riding for yourself, a loved one battling cancer or in memory of someone you’ve lost, know that your support is important to Norton Cancer Institute’s mission to cure cancer and eliminate suffering.
You can sign up to ride as an individual, form a team or join a team.
