The Rev. Krisha Arvin, M.Div., BCC-PCHAC, ACPE CE, is manager of Clinical Pastoral Education for Norton Healthcare. She is an ACPE certified educator trained in Atlanta, Georgia, and is also an APC board certified chaplain with advanced certification in palliative care and hospice. Arvin is known for her innovative use of improv theory in the education of chaplains, medical students, residents and fellows and nursing students. Arvin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and her Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Rev. Mary Burks, M.Ed., M.Div., director, Clinical Pastoral Education, oversees the Norton Healthcare CPE Program. Burks joined the Norton Healthcare pastoral care staff in 1994 after serving as an oncology chaplain for five years. She completed her supervisory training in the Louisville Cluster. She is an ordained Alliance of Baptists minister and a certified ACPE supervisor. Burks earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from the University of Montevallo in Alabama and a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.
The Rev. Ronald C. Oliver, Ph.D., BCC, is system vice president of Mission and Outreach for Norton Healthcare, and an ordained Baptist minister. He began his career with Norton Healthcare in 1989. He served as a chaplain resident, then as staff chaplain in the pediatric intensive care unit at Norton Children’s Hospital. In 2002 he became director of the Pastoral Care Department before being named associate vice president, then vice president. Oliver earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana College in Pineville and Master of Divinity, Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.
The Rev. Kelley Woggon, M.Div., BCC, is director of Norton Healthcare’s Pastoral Care Department. She served as a chaplain at Norton Hospital from 1990 to 1994, then returned to the hospital as a chaplain in 1999. Her areas of specialization include labor and delivery and oncology. Woggon earned her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, and her Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. She is an ordained Cooperative Baptist minister.
All five Norton Healthcare hospitals are served by professional staff chaplains. The chaplains are diverse in denominational background, professional credentials and clinical expertise, which enriches the educational programming as well as the lives of those served in each hospital. This gifted staff has a commitment to mentoring students and participating fully in their educational experiences.
