The Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Movement and the Kentucky Department for Public Health awarded Norton Healthcare a 2018 Fleur de Lis Award in the “very large employer” category. Norton Healthcare also was one of 19 organizations in that category to receive the platinum-level Worksite Wellness Award.

The Worksite Wellness Award is a statewide recognition based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention worksite health criteria, including tobacco control, nutrition, physical activity and stress management.

Norton Healthcare was one of four businesses to earn the Fleur de Lis Award. It honors organizations that are hitting, or exceeding, their wellness targets. Award winners also have top management committed to health and wellness initiatives and offer a variety of opportunities for employees to obtain health information. These organizations also must encourage their employees to participate in community events.

Norton Healthcare has been on a mission to be the healthiest health care system in the region since 2009 when it launched its employee wellness program, N Good Health. Since then, the organization has continued to give employees and their spouses opportunities to improve their health on many different levels.

The rankings are based on a process that recognizes employers for exceptional leadership in using wellness to promote workplace productivity and community well-being. For the Healthiest 100 list, organizations’ wellness programs were measured using six key categories: leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.
