Norton Healthcare seeking community input on West Louisville hospital services and features

Norton Healthcare leaders want to hear from community members on the services and features they would like to see available at the hospital. Feedback from residents and others who work in or visit the area frequently will help ensure the new hospital has what the community needs.

On Feb. 23, 2022, Norton Healthcare announced its plans to build West Louisville’s first newly constructed hospital in more than 150 years. Louisville’s largest health care system is partnering with Goodwill Industries of Kentucky to transform the corner of 28th Street and Broadway into an “Opportunity Campus.”

To make this campus as successful as it can be, Norton Healthcare is working together with health care providers, families and local leaders to identify services that will benefit everyone. Norton Healthcare leaders want to hear from community members on the services and features they would like to see available at the hospital. Feedback from residents and others who work in or visit the area frequently will help ensure the new hospital has what the community needs.

To facilitate ease in receiving community input, a survey is now available in English, Spanish and Swahili, and should only take a few minutes to complete. The online survey is available at NortonHealthcare.com/West-Louisville-Survey. Paper surveys for groups or organizations can be requested by emailing WestLouisvilleHospital@nortonhealthcare.org.

“Norton Healthcare has been intentional about providing access to quality medical treatment by eliminating obstacles so all residents can live a healthy and prosperous life,” said Russell F. Cox, president and CEO, Norton Healthcare. “To best provide this access, we are designing the hospital as we listen and gain valuable feedback from families, providers, organizations and businesses.”

The survey is completely confidential. The feedback individuals provide will be used only by Norton Healthcare for the design of the new hospital. Stay up to date on facility progress at WestLouisvilleHospital.org, where you can sign up to receive e-newsletters.

Comprehensive services at the hospital will include adult and pediatric primary care provider offices, an emergency room, inpatient care and outpatient functions. Imaging services, including X-rays and CT scans, will be available, along with specialty care including women’s health, cardiology, neurology and endocrinology. Services and features will continue to grow.

In 2021, Norton Healthcare provided care to approximately 60% of the West Louisville population. People living in West Louisville visited a Norton Healthcare hospital more than 45,000 times last year for an outpatient service.
