For more than four decades, Norton Sleep Center has been a leader in research, diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea and other sleep disorders for Louisville and Southern Indiana patients. Our team of specialists includes some of the first doctors certified in sleep medicine. They remain innovators at the forefront of advanced methods for diagnosing and treating sleep apnea.
It is a sleep disorder that interrupts your breathing while you’re asleep. Your brain and the rest of your body don’t get enough oxygen during these periods. When this cycle is repeated over and over, night after night, sleep apnea’s toll on the body can lead to high blood pressure, heart attack or stroke.

In our sleep centers, our team has the experience and the resources to test and pinpoint the cause of your sleep apnea. We’ll formulate a sleep apnea treatment solution customized to your needs.
Living with sleep apnea affects your everyday life, work and sleep — and, in some cases, your relationship with your partner. By ignoring the symptoms of sleep apnea you are also putting your own life at risk. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to get a precise diagnosis and the right treatment from a team that has helped thousands of patients with sleep apnea.
The first step in determining whether you have sleep apnea is through a sleep study. You can take advantage of either in-home or in-lab sleep tests at Norton Sleep Center. We have four sleep labs across Louisville where we measure your brain waves and breathing patterns and collect other data to identify a precise cause of your sleep apnea. Once our sleep specialists make a diagnosis, you’ll begin a customized treatment plan right away.
Sleep apnea treatment often requires considerations from cardiologists; endocrinologists; ear, nose and throat specialists; your primary care provider; and others. The area’s most comprehensive network of physicians will collaborate on your treatment plan when necessary to deliver the best possible care.
You’ll have access to a broad array of treatments, including continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machines, as well as less cumbersome oral sleep devices. In some cases, surgery is required to address the condition. Norton Healthcare was the first health care provider in the area offering implantation of the Inspire upper airway stimulation device, a treatment option for some sleep apnea patients unable to use CPAP.
Our goal is to alleviate the cause of the sleep apnea in a way that fits your lifestyle and comfort level.
With the most experienced group of certified sleep physicians in Kentucky, we make it our mission to find the best sleep apnea treatment that is both effective and comfortable for you.
