Medical Weight Management

Are you severely overweight but not a candidate for a weight loss procedure? Are you not interested in surgery? Are you living with weight-related conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or sleep apnea?

If so, Norton Weight Management Services’ medical weight loss program may be the right option for you. The dedicated team at Norton Weight Management Services features a bariatric physician, specially trained nurses, registered dietitians and other specialists, all working together to help you achieve your goals.

How the Program Works

You must have a primary care provider to participate in our medical weight loss  program. Like other specialty practices, this service does not replace the care provided by your primary care provider. Instead, our team of professionals will assist you with the medical, emotional and behavioral issues specifically associated with obesity.

The program is designed to help you understand:

  • How to change your eating habits to lose weight, control hunger and enjoy a healthier lifestyle
  • How your body reacts to food
  • The reason behind your weight issues

You’ll start with a thorough physical examination and consultation, including nutritional counseling and assistance in creating an eating plan. Prescription medication may be given after the exam, if indicated.

It is important to understand that for some people, it is medically necessary to lose weight faster than is possible through this method alone. As part of Norton Weight Management Services, you may receive suggestions for the most appropriate surgical option should you meet criteria.
