Job Shadowing
Job shadowing provides the opportunity to better understand different careers within the health care setting. Job shadowing opportunities are available for clinical and nonclinical job roles. Norton Healthcare’s job shadowing program is a hands-off, observation-only experience.

Medical Assistant Training Program
The Medical Assistant Training Program prepares individuals with little-to-no medical background how to deliver safe, patient-centered care in one of Norton Healthcare’s physician practices. This is a paid training program that is 40 hours per week for approximately eight weeks.
Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation Teen Ambassadors and Teen Board
Meet and share ideas with peers to help the kids at Norton Children’s Hospital through fundraising, events, volunteering and special projects.
Norton Healthcare High School Academy Program
The Norton Healthcare High School Academy Program is a paid internship program for high school seniors interested in pursuing a health care career. Participants receive hands-on experience while working 12 hours a week alongside an experienced Norton Healthcare employee in various internship roles. This program runs through both the fall and spring semesters of the academic school year. The application period opens each spring.
Norton Healthcare Scholars Program
Students pursuing health care-related clinical degrees in key areas of workforce need, such as registered nurse, radiology technologist, respiratory therapist or medical lab technician or technologist, could be eligible to receive up to $45,000 in tuition assistance.
Norton Healthcare-UPS Health Care Career Tracks
In a unique collaboration with UPS, Norton Healthcare offers educational pathways to a variety of health care careers while providing experiential learning opportunities.
Norton King’s Daughters’ Health School of Radiologic Technology
The Norton King’s Daughters’ Health School of Radiologic Technology is a 24-month educational program with both clinical and textbook learning to prepare graduates for a professional career as a radiographer and to sit for the certification exam.
Surgical Technologist Apprenticeship Program
This program prepares individuals for a surgical technologist position at Norton Healthcare. This is a paid, full-time training program consisting of both clinical and textbook learning.

The Norton Healthcare Advancing Research Through Inclusivity, Sustainability and Equity (ARISE) Clinical Research Internship Program provides undergraduate college students the opportunity to participate in a semester-long program immersing themselves in hands-on research training.

Music Therapy Internship
Norton Healthcare’s music therapy interns develop entry-level competencies in three main areas: musical foundations, clinical foundations, and music therapy foundations and principles. Music therapy at Norton Healthcare operates out of several departments, including rehabilitation services, child life and Norton Cancer Institute.
Respiratory Therapy Apprentice Program
The program is a three-tiered, 18- to 24-month paid program designed as a pathway for students to obtain shadowing and hands-on experience while earning their degree. The program prepares students for a registered respiratory therapist role after graduation.
Student Healthcare Assistant
Students in the student healthcare assistant role support patient care needs across our hospital system. The role accommodates college students’ needs for schedule flexibility while offering on-site skills and knowledge development. The program offers a great pathway to other Norton Healthcare care positions.
Student Nurse Apprenticeship Program (SNAP)
SNAP is a nationally recognized, three-tiered student nurse readiness for practice program. This program is a paid apprenticeship model reinforcing nursing education and patient safety, awareness of the professional nurse role and an appreciation of organization and operations within a health care setting.
Administrative Fellowship Program
The Norton Healthcare Administrative Fellowship Program is designed for postgraduate students looking to explore meaningful careers in health care administration. The two-year program puts you on a path for significant career growth through performance excellence projects, strategic planning and leadership exposure.
