Norton Healthcare is committed to developing and maintaining student education programs in Greater Louisville focused on developing a strong health care workforce. Programs and services are available for high school and college students to become involved with health care and explore career options.

Volunteering

Volunteer opportunities are available at all five Norton Healthcare hospitals — Norton Audubon Hospital, Norton Brownsboro Hospital, Norton Children’s Hospital, Norton Hospital, Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

Job shadowing provides high school and college students the opportunity to better understand different career opportunities within health care settings. Job shadowing opportunities are available for clinical and nonclinical job roles.

Student Nurse Apprenticeship Program

Norton Healthcare’s Student Nurse Apprenticeship Program (SNAP) is a three-tied culture, clinical, confidence model of intentional investment in student nurses. SNAP is a paid apprenticeship providing elevated educational and clinical experiences.

Norton Healthcare-UPS Health Care Career Tracks

Norton Healthcare-UPS Health Care Career Tracks is a tuition-free pathway to a health care career from two of the area’s largest employers and community supporters. Current Norton Healthcare High School Academy Program students, UPS employees and UPS Metropolitan College Program health care track students are eligible to participate in this program.
