Surgical Technologist Job Opportunities

Norton Healthcare offers an on-the-job apprenticeship program that prepares students seeking a career as a surgical technologist. Students receive training in the classroom as well as in a hands-on setting to complete program requirements. Students selected into this program must have one year of current health care experience or have completed another health care education program. This program is a noncredentialed, experiential training program offered multiple times each year.

A Typical Day for a Surgical Technologist at Norton Healthcare

At Norton Healthcare, tasks in a typical day for a surgical technologist include:

  • Working closely with the surgeon to conduct the procedure
  • Maintaining a sterile patient environment
  • Monitoring and addressing patient and employee safety
  • Ensuring equipment and instrument integrity

Position Requirements

Associate degree or completion of Norton Healthcare’s surgical services on-site apprenticeship program.
