By focusing on psychological safety, intersectionality and diversity of thought, we are striving to create an atmosphere where our patients and staff feel accepted. We can succeed only when we lead with respecting every person and promoting our culture of belonging.
At Norton Healthcare, belonging starts with understanding, and understanding starts with communication. We are proud to offer dedicated language services to our limited-English proficient (LEP) and deaf/hard of hearing patients, helping to ensure that our patients and their families feel heard, respected and included.
On-site interpreters are the preferred method for communicating with patients who are limited-English proficient (LEP) or deaf/hard of hearing.
Video-remote interpretation, using iPads provided at your location by Language Line Solutions, is best used in situations when an on-site interpreter is preferred, but is not immediately available. The use of video for interpreting is an evolving, but currently limited, service.
Over-the-phone interpretation is a convenient resource for immediate access to nearly 200 spoken languages.
