Virtual Primary Care Visits

Virtual primary care visits offer quick and convenient access to preventive care via video with a Norton Healthcare provider. Virtual visits reduce the need for frequent in-person evaluations for chronic conditions and coordination of screenings and referrals. Appointments are scheduled online.

Benefits of Virtual Primary Care

  • Your provider can help assess whether you need certain screenings based on age and family history.
  • You may receive referrals for specialists, such as cardiologists, dermatologists, mental health providers, OB/GYNs and more.
  • Primary care providers can support you in lifestyle choices such as planning to quit smoking, lose weight or improve your mental health.
  • Providers may order any necessary prescriptions and schedule drive-thru lab visits and vaccinations.

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Visit NortonHealthcare.com/MyChart or download the MyChart app from the Apple or Google app stores.. When downloading the app, select Norton Healthcare.
  • Sign in to MyNortonChart if you have an account, or sign up to create a free, new account.
  • Select “Visits,” then “Schedule an Appointment.”
  • Select “Video Visit – eCare.” When scheduling, keep in mind that you must be located in Kentucky or Indiana at time of visit.
  • You will be asked if you are scheduling for virtual urgent care. Select “No.”
  • You will then be able to confirm why you are scheduling the virtual visit. Select “Yes.”

After you have selected a date and time of your choosing, go to Visits to view your upcoming appointment. Complete eCheck-in to answer a health history questionnaire. Based on your responses, the provider will order any appropriate lab work.

  • You will receive a MyNortonChart message that your lab orders have been entered, as well as directions to our convenient drive-thru lab location at Norton Healthcare Express Services, 2949 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, Kentucky.
  • After your visit, you’ll get prescriptions and referrals for in-person visits with specialists if needed.
  • Ten minutes before your visit, find a quiet location with internet access, log in and go to “Visits,” and select your upcoming appointment. Select “Join Video Visit” to connect with your provider. The provider will join the visit after you begin.

Video visits also can be completed from your MyNortonChart account on a computer if you have a webcam and a microphone.

Telehealth appointments allow patients to meet with a provider face to face through a secure online video connection via smartphone, laptop, tablet or computer.

Your provider’s office will schedule the appointment for you or your child.

To be eligible for a telehealth appointment, you must:

  • Be in Kentucky or Indiana at the time of your appointment and use a Kentucky or Indiana pharmacy to fill your prescription.
  • Have a MyNortonChart account. If you don’t have a free MyNortonChart account, sign up now.
  • If the visit is for your child, establish proxy access to their MyNortonChart account at least a day ahead of time.

For minor illnesses, Norton eCare is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You may schedule a video visit or eVisit from your MyNortonChart account.

Telehealth appointments are covered by most insurance, similar to an office visit. Self-pay options also are available.

Use telehealth appointments to see your primary care or specialist provider. You’ll schedule your visit through your provider.

For virtual urgent care for minor illnesses, you can schedule your own Norton eCare appointment with a Norton Healthcare provider through MyNortonChart. Norton eCare offers eVisits and video visits for patients 2 and older.

You must have a MyNortonChart account and proxy access to your dependent’s MyNortonChart account. To request proxy access, sign in to your MyNortonChart account from a computer and go to the “Profile” tab. Select “Request access to a minor’s record” near the bottom of the screen. Enter the required information about your dependent and click “Submit Request.”

Your request will go to Norton Healthcare’s medical records department. Allow one full business day for proxy access to be granted. You will receive notification in your MyNortonChart inbox when the request is fulfilled. Once you have proxy access, you will be able to select your child’s profile and access your scheduled visit.

If you are still having issues, call (502) 861-4461, option 2, for additional support.

On a mobile device with a data connection through your wireless provider, try turning off Wi-Fi to use the data connection. Confirm in your mobile device’s settings that the Zoom app has access your camera. Ensure you’ve closed other applications. Restart your device. On a computer, connect and disconnect your video feed to reboot it. If you are still having issues, call (502) 861-4461, option 2, for additional support.
